Food, made with love

I just finished licking my plate of Mushroom Risotto clean.  It was, as always, absolutely delicious.  It is not, however, the most calorie-conscious meal choice you can make.  I shutter to think how heavy a serving or two is but, you know, we only live once.  My husband has been making some pretty amazing food recently, with most recipes coming from Chef John.  Chef John not only publishes his recipes in his blog but he also posts narrated, step-by-step videos which show the amateur cook exactly how to execute his yummy dishes.  Over the past couple of years, I have been lucky enough to partake in upwards of fifty Chef John feasts, almost all of which I have really enjoyed.  In fact, Hugo just advised me that Lemon Jalapeño Marinated Mussels are on the menu for this week…lucky me!!

Off the top of my head, some of the best meals we have enjoyed from Chef John are as follows:

Duck Lettuce Cups

Crispy Pork Carnitas

Homemade Dill Pickles

Hopefully you can find some time to explore his blog and take to the kitchen with a fun, new recipe in hand.  I asked Hugo to help me compile that short list of recipes to include above and it was tough for us to only list a few.  Hugo kept yelling more recipes aloud (“That macaroni salad too! What about the Black Lentil Soup!! CHICKEN TINGA!! Oh my gosh…”)  I am confident you will not be disappointed, hungry, or fitting in those cute jeans after one of his meals 🙂 But let’s be honest, jeans are completely overrated.
